To what extent do good leaders shape his/her company and the people around them?

“There are three rules for creating good leaders. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.” W. Somerset Maugham

Leaders can make or break a government, a country, a family, a business or a sport. Meaning if the people or an organization chooses a good capable leader than the country, the business and the sports team will prosper. If they choose a dictator like Hitler or Mugabe then it leads to destruction of the country itself.
That is why a lot of companies spend a lot of money and time searching for suitable CEO of the company. That is why it is important for the people of a country to go out and vote so that a proper suitable leader can be chosen for the country.
People generally want to be lead and to be good followers. When there is a charismatic, intelligent, honest, courageous, a visionary and successful leader they will follow.
The world's leading and successful nations have had great leaders at their helm. South Africa made a successful transaction from Apartheid to democracy because Nelson Mandela had the will and foresight to forgive the white regime that put him behind bars for 27 years.
Microsoft is the world's most successful company because of Bill Gates and his partners vision of a different way of using the computer and program writing. India has one of the most successful Indian Cricket teams ever because Mahindra Singh Dhoni is able to lead his team to victory time and time again due to his exceptional captaining ability and cricket skills.
Leaders shape the people around them. The followers or team members carry out duties or live a good life by looking at the very good qualities a leader must have, namely the below. Today more than ever, we need great exceptional leaders. Without these leaders with foresight mankind will cease to exist as man kind is more bent on killing each other and the earth itself.

Is Indra Nooyi an Effective leader or not? An analysis

Coming from India and being a women, most critics striked out Indra early when she took over PepsiCo's realm. She has proved all of them wrong.
Indra Nooyi is essentially one of the most effective leader in the business community of our time. She lead the group when it was being bombarded with negative criticism from many parties and forced the company to relook at its core operations, its product range and its responsibility as a food supplier.
She is a leader who has overcome female and racial stereotyping. She has shown that females do not need to be a home maker and a follower to a man. She has a family life,is a mother, a wife and a business woman to be dealt with.
Her leadership style is swift and decisive but not autocratic. She believes in equality of all races and we can see it from the multi racial leadership in PepsiCo and also the staff. Pepsi is respected in all countries and is growing exponentially.
She is respected around the world is routinely invited to give talks on business, leadership and on women in business.
Her best moment would probably be her ability to stand head to head with the other beverage giant COKE (Coca Cola). Pepsi is now a brand to be reckoned with and is not longer being shadowed by Coke but a serious competitor.

Structure of the Pepsico Organization under Indra Nooyi's Leadership

PepsiCo is well known for its Pepsi beverage products. This multinational corporation is also responsible for the production of Frito-Lay, Gatorade, and Tropicana and Quaker products. Under Indra’s leadership, in November 2007 marked a change in the company's organizational structure from two units to three.

As per the diagram above, PepsiCo is a decentralised structure with each markets and business units independent to make decisions but they must uphold the organisations policy and goals. PepsiCo is an adaptive organization, as they are continuously seeking constant improvement and keeping new ideas in the marketplace while its products progress along their life cycles.
PepsiCo has a decentralized organizational structure, with operational decisions made within the separate business units while being governed by policies at the corporate level.
