PepsiCo is an American multinational food and beverage corporation headquartered in Purchase, New York, United States, with interests in the manufacturing, marketing and distribution of grain-based snack foods, beverages, and other products. PepsiCo was formed in 1965 with the merger of the Pepsi-Cola Company and Frito-Lay, Inc. PepsiCo has since expanded from its namesake product Pepsi to a broader range of food and beverage brands, the largest of which include an acquisition of Tropicana in 1998 and a merger with Quaker Oats in 200 which added the Gatorade brand to its portfolio.
As of January 2012, 22 of PepsiCo's product lines generated retail sales of more than $1 billion each and the company's products were distributed across more than 200 countries, resulting in annual net revenues of $43.3 billion. Based on net revenue, PepsiCo is the second largest food & beverage business in the world. Within North America, PepsiCo is ranked as the largest food and beverage business.
Indra Nooyi is the Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo since 2007. She has lead the company through thick and thin and is has succeeded in increasing its business income, brand awareness and public interest in the company.

Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi was born on 28 October 1955 in Madras, Chennai. After graduating from Madras Christian College, she did her Masters in Finance and Marketing from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

She began her career in India. She held product manager positions at Johnson & Johnson. In 1978, she was admitted to Yale School of Management and earned a Master's degree in Public and Private Management. While at Yale, she completed her summer internship with Booz & Company. Graduating in 1980, Nooyi joined the Boston Consulting Group and then held strategy positions at Motorola and Asea Brown Boveri.

She joined PepsiCo in 1994 as PepsiCo’s senior vice president, Strategic Planning. In 2001 she served as served as president and chief financial officer, when she was also named to PepsiCo's Board of Directors. In this position, she was responsible for PepsiCo's corporate functions, including finance, strategy, business process optimization, corporate platforms and innovation, procurement, investor relations and information technology.

Indra was named president and CEO on October 1, 2006 and assumed the role of chairman on May 2, 2007. She has directed the company's global strategy for more than a decade and led its restructuring,
